Michael Sargeant
Michael cofounded Blue Sky FuelSolutions after working in the energy sector for over 20 years. He started in the industry as a Reservoir Engineer in the Exploration and Production and Mid Stream part of the business, working in Canada and the Caribbean before joining Shell International and working in Downstream businesses mainly.
As a member of Shell’s International staff, Michael has been assigned to Shell businesses globally in leadership roles bringing change and delivering optimization of value creation and risk management activities.
Roles have included running the north American Aviation business, building Services and Logistics Businesses and most recently an alternative fuels commercialization start-up. Locations across the globe have included living and working in China and Hong Kong, the Caribbean, and spending the last 20 years between Houston and London.
The tool-kit which allowed these assignments was developed during a career where operational and technical responsibilities were interspersed with commercial management and strategy roles. This unusual blend allowed development of broad oil experience and considerable capability with P&Ls, sales, engineering, operations optimization, business consultancy, supply distribution and logistics.
Michael’s board and industry experience has included being chairman of JIG over 5 years and he has recently been recognized by IATA for his career contributions to the global Jet Fuel Industry. He received his Bsc. Hons. In Chemical Engineering from the University of the West Indies and his Master of Science from Penn State University.
Elias Zabaneh - Ph.D. Law and Public Finances
Elias brings over 35 years of legal, financial, entrepreneurial and negotiating experience to the aviation industry, along with a range of long established relationships in the aviation corporate world, the Mexican government and the international private sector.
Combining his legal practice, administrative and financial skills with years of negotiating experience, Elias has created many business collaborations between foreign corporate entities and the Mexican government.
Fully bi-lingual, Elias also has a successful track record of building and operating aviation fuel and services businesses in Mexico and the USA.
Customers include the Mexican Air Force, the Mexican Navy, the Mexico Presidential Flight, Mexico Attorney General’s offices and several Mexican Governors of State. On the corporate side, Aeromexico, Interjet, Aeromar are among his clients.
A trusted and recognized global professional, his business interests also include representation for a range of international aviation technology businesses in USA and Mexico such as Universal Aviation and Weather, Pentagon Software Aviall Services, Sabreliner Aviation and Teledyne controls.
Wendy Sargeant
Wendy has worked in media, communications and marketing for over 20 years. Before joining Blue Sky FuelSolutions she held officer level position in CANA after working in other news services. As Marketing Manager of CANA, Wendy worked for corporate clients, the public sector, International Agencies and NGOs with clients and staff based in Central and South America, across the English-speaking Caribbean and also in Washington DC and London.
Starting initially in the news room, Wendy has a wealth of knowledge honed over a career where she has been involved in writing, editing, producing and university lecturing on Communications issues.
Bi-Lingual in Spanish and English, Wendy holds an M.Sc. in Communications from Florida State University and a B.Sc. in Television and Radio Production from Syracuse University
